Question by Lex: Diagnosis Help- Bad Breath, Dry Throat?
About a month ago, I almost swallowed nail polish remover. It got to the edge of my throat, but I never swallowed. I washed out my mouth profusely, and the Poison Control Center said I would be fine. I also had my wisdom teeth removed about 2 months ago. Well now, for the past month, I’ve had horrible breath and a very dry throat. I don’t know if the problems are related, but nothing works. I’ve tried Thera Breath, drinking lots of water, flossing everywhere, and drops with no luck.

Please help!

You may have holes in your tonsils called crypts. Sometimes these crypts fill up with food, mucus, and bacteria and create little balls called tonsil stones. They would definitely explain the bad breath and having a dry throat could be causing your body to produce excess mucus. If not, you might want to go back to your oral surgeon to make sure your sockets haven’t developed an infection.

I have had strep throat for about 8 days now. when I first had it i went to the doctor had they gave me a shot of penicillin. BUT my throat still has white spots on the back and my glands are still swollen. ALSO my breath stinks very bad. i was wondering what i could do or take to get rid of the bad breath from the infections and also how much longer will i have the white spots and swelling in my throat.

Call your doctor and see if the swelling has resolved. You may need another shot or a course of oral antibiotics.

In the mean time, you can gargle with an alcohol-based mouthwash such as Listerine.

iv had a sore throat for 2 days and i have a cold. also i have a really heavy cough and when i cough my head hurts. i asked my science teacher (im 13 btw) what i could do and she said to buy a humidifier but my family aint got the money so we cnt but she told me that i could boil water on the stove then breath in the steam but it didnt help me much, does any1 no anythin i could do !!?? btw i dont like honey so dont say drink honey and water, and i have been drinkin alot of water, also my head feels kinda heavy and hurts 2 move it !!! sore throat, bad cough, head ache, cold, !!!

HI, ever since a long time.. I always have phlegm in my throat and nose. I have to constantly clear my throat and stuff. And my family has always told me that I have bad breadth… and like at my job people give me chewing gum and stuff. It is so embarrasing,

I was curious if maybe the phlegm could be the cause of that bad breadth problem?
