Question by sugarcookie: Can you have tonsil stones AFTER having your tonsils out? my daughter has yellow lumps that do not cough out.
My 12 yr old daughter had a tonsillectomy at the age of 6, so did my 21 yr old son. They both suffered with strep throat SEVERAL times from the age of 4 to 6. My son has had NO difficulties with his throat. BUT, I have taken my daughter to the dr. several times since, because of a sore throat and thought it was strep again, but it has never been. The dr. said it is what he calls ‘cobble stones’ He told me the ‘medical term’ but it went over my head. Anyway, I read about tonsil stones and was wondering if you could still get them after a tonsillectomy. She does NOT cough them out, but she has always had bad breath. Her throat is sore and she is a little hoarse, but has NO fever or any other symptoms. She sometimes has sinus headaches and has drainage and also swimmer’s ear. She has missed a lot of school due to her throat being so sore. I made her an appt. with an ENT dr. for after school is out this summer, because our family dr. never does anything.

that happened to me once i had mine taken out. i suggest going and getting a anti-biotic from a doctor. that what i had to do. although mine may be worse cuz mine were green where they used to be and i couldnt cought it either. i had the worst breath! hope this helps :)

I have had strep throat for about 8 days now. when I first had it i went to the doctor had they gave me a shot of penicillin. BUT my throat still has white spots on the back and my glands are still swollen. ALSO my breath stinks very bad. i was wondering what i could do or take to get rid of the bad breath from the infections and also how much longer will i have the white spots and swelling in my throat.

Call your doctor and see if the swelling has resolved. You may need another shot or a course of oral antibiotics.

In the mean time, you can gargle with an alcohol-based mouthwash such as Listerine.

someone told me it sounds something like sideplarisy (spelled as sounded to me) my left shoulder chest and rib cage hurts so bad i cant breath and i woke up it hurt so bad i couldnt even move my arm, pain killers only dim the pain. the dizziness started a couple weeks ago still continueing though not as often. the pain started yesterday. and is gradually getting worse. does anybody know what this sideplarisy is? or maybe if its something else.

Ok so i tend to have these cramps in my stomach where I can’t breath what so ever. Even, some times, I have to lean against a wall so i don’t fall over. It goes away after a little bit but usually comes back. Then the pain seems to increase, then finally go away. I would like to know what this is if anyone would know. Please help me!! I went to the doctors and she never actually told me what it is and I’m pretty sure that it is not my period or starvation issues!

(ps- these are like killer cramps, ones that you want to scratch the wall and tables until he leave marks)

I had a fixed brace for nearly four years, and since having it removed although my teeth are straight, they never seem to be white even if I brush them three or four times. Also, I seem to be having problems with bad breath even though I use mouthwash. Just to add to all this, because of my frequent brushing I now have sore, bleeding gums. I really need some advice because it’s making me feel self conscious and it’s really affecting my confidence.

If I get my wisdom teeth pulled, hopefully will my bad breath problem be gone by chance? I know a lot of food gets trapped down there and I can’t floss back there because they’re halfway out of my gums, plus I have like a flap over them where the food gets trapped under. I put my finger back there one time and smelled my finger, and I was like “Whew!”, I’m thinking I need to go ahead and get them taking out. I feel no pain from them but I think that’s the reason why my breath smells bad all the time. I keep mints on me. Do you think this is a good idea to go ahead and get them removed?
