For a while now I have had a problem where my mouth just drys up all the time causing my breath to smell bad (like morning breath). It seems that no matter what I do my mouth always ends up drying up which also seems to cause my lips to dry up and start to peel and everything. I can drink a glass of water and 2 minutes later my mouth is dry and tasting nasty again! Toothpaste seems to be one of the worst causes of this also along with mouth wash. I use Act mouthwash which is alcohol free and all that good stuff but it still drys out my mouth (and my lips!). I have always had sensitive lips that chap up real easily but I never had a problem with bad breath until this past year! What could be wrong? I am going to schedule a dentist appointment in the next couple of weeks but I would like to get started on solving this problem now.
Just as a note: I am not on any medications at all and I do not ever floss my teeth because my teeth are all very close together and floss does nothing but get stuck between them and breaks off. Why are my lips so prone to becoming dried and peally? They look almost like there is a layer of dried up saliva sometimes (whitish) that just peals right off but looks kinda nasty when it happens. I drink atleast 4 bottels of water everyday also + what ever I drink while i am at work..
