Even though, I brush, floss, scrape my tongue, and rinse my mouth with a mouthwash, Crest Pro-Health. But I feel that the bad breath comes from the saliva….
I am not too sure because currently, I have a mucus in my throat (I will get that checked out), and I feel that is the culprit of the bad breath….
Any ideas how to get rid of it?

Your bad breath could have an underlying medical cause. See either your dentist or your primary care physician about this.

Actually all people have some amount of bad breath, however, most of us can’t smell our own bad breath. The majority of bad breath comes from the top of the tongue, not the teeth, where bacteria grow and produce bad breath. Smelly foods, such as garlic, liquids, such as coffee, and smoking also produce bad breath. Gum, mints, mouthwash just cover up bad breath for a short time because they do not get rid of the cause of bad breath. Good oral hygiene is to brush and floss the teeth and then clean the top of the tongue with a tongue cleaner (not your toothbrush) that has both a brush and a scraper.
