Good for you to want to be kissing sweet. Remember that most bad breath is caused by bacteria on the top of the tongue which must be removed to cure bad breath. Mints and gum will cover up bad breath for a short time but to get rid of bad breath you need to clean your tongue. I use OraBrush tongue cleaner because it is both a brush and a scraper. It does a great job and my wife will kiss me now. The best to you.

Hi Emma,
Bad breath is caused by anaerobic sulfur-producing bacteria which normally live within the surface of the tongue and in the throat. These bacteria are supposed to be there because they assist humans in digestion by breaking down proteins found in specific foods.
Something you need to be aware of is MOST commercial mouthwashes, toothpastes and oral care products either contain sugar or alcohol which will only make the problem worse or at best provide a very short term relief.
I found the answer to my problems after reading through here;http://hubpages.com/hub/Bad-Breath-Originates

You can try this simple test. Clean the inside of your wrist then lick it and wait 4 seconds then smell it. If you don’t like what smell you know you have a problem.
Common causes of bad breath also known as halitosis are:
Dehydration in other words not enough water in your body. We all have bacteria in our mouth they are required by the body to pre-process food before it passes to the stomach. Generally those bacteria prosper on protein rich foods, so reducing for instance the quantity of meat consumed and replacing it with fruit and plant products is beneficial and lessens bad breath and is at the same time good for your general health. The bacteria are anaerobic, which literally means without oxygen, and saliva provides oxygen, so a scarcity of spit encourages growth. Spit can be reduced if you breathe thru your mouth for instance when you sleep or exrecise. Other mouth drying activities include missing meals, drinking alcohol and not drinking enough water to remain hydrated.
Other causes are gum or tooth disease, Intestinal/ stomach disorders, yeast infections, use of certain medications, stress consuming foods such as onions, coffee, garlic and protien rich foods such as red meat.

Visit the site below to learn more about the problem and how to overcome it.
