How long does your breath stay fresh after brushing your teeth?

in FAQ

I want to start good dental habits and get rid of my bad breath. I was thinking brushing twice a day, flossing before bed, using mouth wash after each brush, tongue scrapping after each brush, and start eating healthily.

After how long will i have good oral hygeine and fresh breath that will last 5 hours or more?

that really depends. like if you have gingivitis (disease of the gum’s) that causes major bad breath. so it really depends. but if you notice that your breath is starting to stink, chew a piece of gum.

A dentists answer would be an average of 7 hours. However, there are multiple factors to consider.

The major thing you should analyse is that the act of brushing is the important action. It brushes away the built up scum in our mouths. Brushing with water doesnt have much of a major difference than with toothpaste.

So, subsequently, brushing after each mwal is the best thing to do. If your at work just bring some mouthwash if you are unable to use a toothbrush.

Getting rid of bad breath requires you to first identify its cause. If it’s lung, throat, sinus or stomach infections, then good dental habit won’t help. If the source of your bad breath originates from your mouth, then you should brush your teeth at least twice a day, floss and use mouth wash and tongue scraper. You should also visit your dentist every six months or every year for oral prophylaxis.

With regards to your question on how long does your breath STAY FRESH after brushing your teeth, it will last only up to 15 minutes. Minimum of four minutes, bacteria in your mouth start to build up. This is to balance the numbers of good and bad bacteria and acidity in your mouth.

It doesn’t. You just think it does. The reason is that most bad breath comes from the top of the tongue, not the teeth. Brushing just causes some of the toothpaste to collect on the top of the tongue so you taste the toothpaste and think you do not have bad breath. After a short time the smell from the top of the tongue win out. Good oral hygiene is: brush and floss your teeth and then clean the top of your tongue with a tongue brush that has both a brush and scraper. You must remove the bacteria and food and drink residue that collect there in the deep indentations of the tongue surface. See http//www.orabrush.com Test have shown that using OraBrush tongue cleaner will control bad breath up to 12hours.
