Well, Hi everyone, it’s my first question here on yahoo questions, but I feel like I need to ask it so here it goes.
2 months ago I had this girlfriend who gave me nothing but problems. I kinda felt sorry for her so I gave her an opportunity. What happens is that she always had a HORRIBLE breath, and I really mean horrible. Ever since from the first I’ve kissed her I have exactly her bad breath, which is strange because I never never never had halitosis. I’ve been surfing the net about the subject and I found that halitoses isn’t supposed to spread via French kissing, but I can’t find any other way to explain my bad breath.
Anyway, since it shouldn’t be anything like a chronic halitosis or something, how could I… cure it?
Note: I’ve noticed a little bit thrush in the dorsal surface of the tongue.
Thanks, Claud.

What causes Halitosis?
Halitosis is usually caused by poor oral hygiene. However, it can also can be caused by retained food particles or gum disease. Proper brushing including brushing the tongue, cheeks, and the roof of the mouth will remove bacteria and food particles.
In most cases, halitosis originates from the gums and tongue. The odor is caused by bacteria from the decay of food particles, other debris in your mouth, and poor oral hygiene. The decay and debris produce a sulfur compound that causes the unpleasant odor.
Other causes of halitosis are: diabetes, drugs, gum disease, heavy metal accumulation, infection, liver disease, not eating, poor diet, poor dental hygiene, smoking, sulfur, stress, and tooth decay.
claud, the girl has nothing to do with you having bad breath! go to a pharmacy and buy a tongue scrapper, made of plastic , , all u do is run it on your tongue in mornings and eves, very soon you will notice that your breath is much better, the tongue is the largest carrier of germs that we have..goodluck and don’t worry
That’s very interesting and somewhat puzzling.
What I would suggest is getting the strong Listerine and just swishing it around in your mouth for about 5 minutes.
Then after that gargle with water for about 30 minutes.
Then after that use one of those tongue scrapers and scrape all the stuff on your tongue really good.
Then go a dentist and let the dental hygienist clean your mouth up more.
Then chew some DoubleMint gum.
After that – relax.
As you said Halitosis isn’t something contagious. So don’t worry. Just keep some Tic-Tacs near just in case. OK, good luck.
Bad breath can be caused by a variety of reasons however if you are not eating a lot of red meat and your oral hygiene is good, it could be the thrush.
See your G.P. you will feel better getting it checked out.
yes, it can be caused by kissing.
I have a husband & wife as patients that both have horrible breath (hers is worse)…
I asked my dentist about it… and she told me it’s most likely chronic gum disease (periodontal disease). The bacteria in the gums spread from kissing.
I would go to your dentist & get your gums checked
Try brushing your tounge (sometimes that white stuff isn’t thrush, just a coating)– but if it is thrush, your dentist will be able to tell & give you an antifungal drug to kill it.
good luck!
ewww!! i think u can’t get halitosis
d cause of halitosis
Smoking can make bad breath worse. Smoking and chewing tobacco dry out the mouth and again produce adverse tissue dryness and plasma secretions which are broken down by bacteria into volatile organic compounds. Anything which dries the mouth can promote bad breath, including some prescription drugs, alcohol consumption and some systemic diseases. Dry mouth can be caused by sinus congestion and nasal blockages. Rhinitis and nasal drainage also cause bad breath. Even dieting and diabetes can cause odor.
First off, let me say, how commendable of you to “lower your standards” and give the poor little waif the benefit of your charm, charisma, and obvious good looks (sarcasm intended). You think quite highly of yourself……..think the girl will probably never again have the chance to go out with a “stud” like yourself.
As far as the bad breath….it cannot be spread by kissing unless of course the cause of the bad breath in the other person is due to some sort of infection which may have been passed on. Many times bad breath is a “stomach” odor and not a mouth odor. Have you been eating anything since you started noticing this that you were not eating before? The presence of thrush may have a significant amount to do with the breath. First, go to the doctor and then possibly a dentist. In the meantime, try to get over yourself!
