Can Ear Mites or an Ear Infection in a dog Cause Bad Breath?

I have a 5 months old Miniature rat terrier and I THINK that she has ear mites. There are black grain like thingys in her ear that resemble coffee grain. She also has extremely bad breath that she can’t seem to get rid of.

Is there a chance that stubborn ear mites could cause stubborn bad breath?

No my dog has bad breath and never had earmites you can get treatment for earmites (look in cat section) and toothpaste and brush at wal-mart

I don’t about the Ear Mites, but if she licks her but, she might need to have her anal glands cleaned. My dog has really bad breath from that!

no that will not cause bad breath, dogs just have stinky breath sometimes, maybe she needs her teeth cleaned, but you really do need to get rid of the ear mites

No way, sounds like yes you have ear infection plus right know the pup is teething and odor could be from that but make sure there isn’t a broken tooth or a puppy tooth left behind and adult come in. She needs a vet for the ears, they can exam the teeth as well and help you out.

Bad breathe has nothing to do with the ear mites. Please go to Pets Mart or Walmart and get some ear mite medication, don’t take a chance on damaging her ears and her hearing. If you are not sure take your baby to the Vet asap.Good Luck!!!!!

I disagree, if the ears are infected you may have run down into the dogs sinuses drainage could cause the bad breath. also I doubt it has mites probably just an infection and that could have underlying effects on the dogs gums and teeth. either way u need to take dog to vet. clean the teeth rinse the ears with octic solution if you wont take to vet.
