in causes of bad breath

Today, I had a big glass of water with half a lemon squeezed in it. Then I had macaroni cheese for lunch (there were some prawns, mashrooms, onions and broccoli in it as well as bashamel sauce and plently of melted cheese).

Immediately after finishing my meal I had really bad smell coming out from my mouth. It smelled like gutter, truly awful.
And no matter how much I drank plain water afterwards I couldnt get rid of the horrible smell for the rest of the day.

My stomach is pretty healthy and I dont usually notice bad breath from my stomach.

My only guess is because dairy of the sauce/cheese and lemon reacted chemically. Am I right?

If so, what other combination of food can cause really bad breath?
oh, let me be clear that i dont suffer from bad breath nomally. It was this incident and it is definitely coming from stomach not from gums or teeth.
