I have issues with my salivary glands at time and now they are killing me, right under my jaw. Then my tonsils are swollen and sore and it hurts to breath and talk, but it’s not too bad. I’m at class now and can handle this just fine, it’s just annoying and I want it cleared up. There’s not really any cough but the breathing is weird. I woke up in the middle of the night last night having to catch my breath in a panic attack. It wasn’t too dramatic just scary for a few seconds then I went back to sleep and forgot all about it. My chest is tight. I’ve been drinking alcohol the past week, a lot more than usual, so I could just be dehydrated and sore from yelling. When should I go to a doctor? I would rather not do that though, seeing as I have no insurance, so what can I do to help clear this up on my own?

well the symptoms you described seem to be more than just from drinking a lot and yelling. you almost sound like you have what i have right now. first things, first….no more alcohol. drink lots of water and juice. preferably orange juice or any juiced enriched with vitamin C. keep hydrated and get as much rest as you can. but since your at school, is there anyway you can take dayquil or robatussin? or even sudafed for chest congestion. a home remedy for your sore throat would be to drink hot water with honey in it.
